ROBERT HAROLD MacPHERSON December 2, 1938 - May 31, 2000 At the age of 61, on May 31, 2000 Robert (Bob) went to Heaven to join his mother Gladys, father Harold and sister Margaret after "cancer (finally) won the chess game." Bob will be lovingly remembered and missed by his cherished wife Helen (nee Frig) and son Joseph Harold; three sisters, Lola (Harry) Andrews of Strathmore, Alta., Alma (Gordon) Williams of Courtenay, B.C. and Jean (John) Steir of Armstrong, B.C. and a brother Gord of Vernon, B.C. On Helens side of the family, her mother, brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephew will miss Bob. He was born in Timmins, Ont. on December 2, 1938 and was raised and educated in Cochrane, Ont. He was very active in the Scouting movement and as a "Rover", attended the 8th World Scouting Jamboree in 1955. Bob left Cochrane shortly after his schooling and started out with a Gas company in Hamilton, Ont. He eventually changed to a silk-screening career with Claude Neon (E.L. Rudy) in Toronto, Ont. He met the love of his life, Helen, who was also working at Claude Neon and they married in 1971. He and Helen moved to Winnipeg in 1984 after the death of her brother Joe. As a result of his keen interest and hobby with electronics and computers, he started a career with Washex as an electrical technician and enjoyed his career until the end. Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, June 3 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 365 Burnell Street with Rev. Fr. Paul Hancko who presided. Helen would like to say a special "Thank You" to the VON nurse, Dr. Paul Daeninck, the staff at the Pain Clinic and Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital as well as the Health Sciences Centre Emergency Staff. Her biggest thank you goes to her friend Joyce Penner, without whom she would never have gotten through this ordeal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit or Pain Clinic at St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache, Wpg., MB R2H 2A6. "Bob, you will always be in our hearts and prayers. We Love you and miss you." WOJCIKS FUNERAL CHAPEL & CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
