ELLIS DERBYSHIRE Peacefully after a lengthy illness Ellis Derbyshire passed away at the Grace Hospital on Friday June 9, 2000 at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his brother George. Dads memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 54 years, Margery. His children Doreen (Don Brown), Barb (Eric Loewen), George (Lorraine) Derbyshire and Alan Derbyshire. His grandchildren Tricia (Gary Paton) and Steven Brown as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ellis was born in Coleman Alberta and grew up attending school there. Following High School he worked in the Coal Mines until he joined the Royal Canadian Airforce and served in England during the Second World War. After the war he returned to Coleman Alberta and acquired employment there until the time they moved to Winnipeg where he began his work for Bristol Aerospace. After Bristol Aerospace Dad worked for Great West Life until his retirement. Following his retirement he continued to enjoy his life long hobbies, which included model places and trains, woodworking, reading, and his love for Big Band Music. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 13 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Reception will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellis memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., R3B 2H8 or Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., R3E 0V9.
