Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRED ALLAN RITCHOT PAPA June 17, 1933 - June 8, 2000 A true family man with wholesome values and an amazing sense of humour has left our lives but will always live on in our spirit and souls. A CELEBRATION of Freds LIFE will be held in the Voyage Funeral Chapel Monday, June 12, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. The son of Edith (Ruse) and "Big Bill" Ritchot, Fred was born and raised in Winnipeg with his brothers, Honey (William) Ritchot Jr. and Ed Ritchot and his little sister Emily Paddison (Ritchot). Fred enjoyed visiting his Mum and his brothers and sister and their spouses every chance he got. Whether fixing cars, sprucing up a house, having a barbecue, going to the Air Show or celebrating a family occasion, great fun was had by all. Honey and Yvette (Plouffe) and their sons, Tim and Linda and Tom; Ed and Carol and their children, Len and Britta, Ed Jr. and Jill, Ellen Chambers and Barry and Todd and Kim; Emily and Dilbert Paddison and their children, Ken and Donald and Roma and all 11 of his great-nieces and nephews. Fred met his wife Edith-Pat (Parke) at 17 years of age and they raised a family of five together until Ediths passing in June 1991. Fred "Buzz" Ritchot Jr. and Joyce (Vaughan) Lynda (Ritchot) and Wayne Taillieu and their daughters, Tammy, Shelly and Jody; Sharon (Ritchot) and John Vegh of Ontario; Bill Ritchot of Montreal and Michelle Ritchot and Stefphany Cholakis and all three of Freds great-grandchildren. Fred provided for his family by driving any vehicle he could get his hands on. Starting at Borger Brothers and eventually making his career at Motorways as a long distance driver across Canada. He received an award for 500,000 miles of safe driving and continued driving for many years after that. He retired in July 1998 from Dynamex Express, bring his joy and hugs to many businesses in Winnipeg. His life-long dream of flying an airplane was realized last summer in Toronto. The family couldnt make it to New Orleans for a parade and party or go to Ireland for a traditional wake. Instead, family and friends are encouraged to honour Freds legacy by sharing their stories of Freds zest for life, his positive outlook, his sense of humour, love of nature and the joy that jazz music brought to his life plus all of the good times we shared with him as part of a simple service, just as Fred requested.
