DOUGLAS BRIAN SAUNDERS -
Date of Passing: Jun 10, 2000
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS BRIAN SAUNDERS 1941 - 2000 Passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness Saturday, June 10, 2000 at The Tache Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his mom Pearl in 1988 and dad Doug in 1990. Prior to Brians illness in 1978, he worked in the home construction trade. His zest for life and adventure found him "at home" throughout western Canada and parts of the U.S.A. Aside from family, we know Brians loves in life were breeding and raising Huskies, fishing, hunting and his vauntful attempt at being a curling pro. He will always be remembered for his "off the wall" sense of humor, the many words of wisdom for his little brother, and of course the "tall tales" usually about the "big ones" that got away or the fantastic shot he made in the last game. Brian will be missed by his brother Garry, sister-in-law Marcy, his one and only favourite Aunt Donnie (Paul) Fors in Toronto, ON, and other family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). A special thanks to the staff at The Tache Nursing Centre for their care and compassion during the many years Brian resided there. In lieu of flowers, donations in Brians memory may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
