MERLE MORRISON On Friday, June 9, 2000, Merle Morrison of Winnipeg, MB peacefully passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey, BC. The daughter of Nicolas and Mary Argue (Cavenaugh), Merle was born in 1909 at Clearwater, MB. A concerned and devoted teacher, Merle began teaching in one room schools in rural Manitoba and retired from Ralph Maybank Elementary School in 1975. Upon her retirement, she volunteered at the Victoria Hospital. Merle was an enthusiastic curler and bridge player and remained an active member of bridge clubs until her death. Merle was Mom to her daughter Myrna and son Shayne, and dear friend to her son-in-law Ken and daughter-in-law Deidra. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Christi Courage Wiltse, Carson Courage, Patrick and Courtney Morrison. She is survived by her sister Marjorie Howatt (Jack) and sisters-in-law, Nellie Argue, Marg Argue and Vernia Morrison Game; as well as many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held in Winnipeg at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. We would like to thank all the family and friends who have been so thoughtful and helpful to us.
