Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE NEUFELD May 4, 1920 - June 11, 2000 Peacefully, after a brief illness, George Neufeld passed away June 11, 2000 at the Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 80 years. George was predeceased by his parents George and Gertrude; his brothers, Abe and Jake and his sisters, Gertrude and Sarah. George will be lovingly remembered by his brother David (Anna) of Vanderhoof, B.C. and by numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. George was born in the Winkler area. In 1941 he joined the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and served throughout Europe, including Germany and France until the end of the war in 1945. George was very proud of his service record. He later joined the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans in Canada where George was a 40 year member of A.N.A.F. Unit #60 on Garry Street. After the war George worked at various jobs and then finished the last 15 years of his working life with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. George was a free spirit who enjoyed life to the fullest. Everyone who knew George liked him. The family wish to thank the A.N.A.F. Unit #60, especially Dennis Wold for all the support that they have been to George. They also would like to thank Unit 5T of the Deer Lodge Centre for all their kindness and the care that they have provided George this past year. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street. Interment Brookside Cemetery.
