JOSEPH LETOURNEAU Joseph Roland Letourneau, born on September 27, 1929 in Ste Anne de Beaupre, Quebec passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 10, 2000 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 70 years. He is survived by his stepchildren, Rita and John, Rose and Eric, John and Gertrude and Clifford all of Winnipeg. His wife Christine; his stepdaughter Florette, and his brothers, Rosaire and Henri, both of Quebec, predeceased him. Joe will be remembered by 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren as well as sisters, Jeanne dArc, Yvonne, Yolande, Jeannine, Noella and brother Benoit with wife Suzanne together with 36 nieces and nephews all of Quebec. Also left to mourn are his good buddy Henri and friend Grace. Joseph served in the Canadian Armed Forces in Canada, the United States and the Far East during the Korean War. He served from August 25, 1950 until March 26, 1957 when he was honourably discharged due to an injury sustained in the line of duty. Joseph will also be remembered for volunteering in several charities having received a number of awards for his participation. One of his favourite pastime was playing bingo. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion Street, Winnipeg. Viewing will take place half hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow. Private interment with family only will be held at a later date. Many thanks to the nurses and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for the care he received while he was with them. Il laisse dans le deuil ses beaux-enfants Rita et John, Rose et Eric, John et Gertrude, et Clifford, tous de Winnipeg, ses douze petits-enfants et dix arrieres petits-enfants, ses soeurs Jeanne dArc, Yvonne, Yolande, Jeannine, Noella, son frere Benoit et son epouse Suzanne; 36 nieces et neveux, tous du Quebec. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil son copain Henri et son amie Grace. Il a ete precede par son epouse Christine, sa belle fille Florette, ses freres Rosaire et Henri du Quebec. Il a servi dans les forces armees du Canada, aux Etats- Unis et en Extreme - Orient pendant la guerre de Coree, du 25 aout 1950 jusquau 26 mars 1957. Il a ete rendu a la vie civile avec honneur suite e une blessure. Joseph etait benevole pour plusieurs organismes charitables qui ont tenu a reconnaitre sa participation et son devouement. Le bingo etait un passe-temps favouri pour Joseph. Le Service funeraire aura lieu mecredi le 14 juin a 13h30 a la chapelle P. Coutu, 156 rue Marion, Winnipeg. Le visionnement aura lieu une demie heure avant le service. Lincineration suivra le service. Linhumation privee aura lieu a une date ulterieure avec la famille. La famille desire remercier les infimieres, et le personel a lHopital Saint Boniface pour les bons soins accordes a Joseph. Au lieu de fleurs, des offrandes pourraient etre versees en sa memoire a la Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C2B7. P.
