HELENA DECH (Nee Althen) Peacefully on June 13, 2000 Helena Dech passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital, she was born in Jugoslavia on April 26, 1908. In 1939 she moved to Germany and then to Canada in 1951, being sponsored by Nicholas Hoff and family. She was a very compassionate and loving mother and grandmother. The house will be very empty without her. We will miss her always, may she rest in peace. Helena was predeceased by her husband Peter Dech, a daughter in infancy, son Peter Dech, grandson Peter Dech and brother Heinrich. Left behind are son Frank and Anita Dech, daughter Helen and Adolf Zacharias, daughter-in-law Erna Dech, grandchildren Karen Davidheiser (Bob), Monica Becker (Al), Andy Dech, Robert Zacharias, Michael Zacharias, several great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and friends Kate and Christian Roemich. Pallbearers will be Robert Zacharias, Michael Zacharias, Julius Zacharias, Ed Zacharias, Shaun Roemich and Brenden Roemich. Viewing will be held from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2000 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. Funeral service will be held at 10:30am Friday, June 16, 2000 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St., with Pastor Christoph Reiners officiating.
