ROSEMARIE JEAN FLETCHER (nee HILLCOFF) Suddenly, on Monday, June 12, 2000, at the Credit Valley Hospital in her 54th year. Rosemarie, beloved wife to Robert J. Fletcher and loving mother of Glen and his fiancee Julia Bolton; predeceased by parents John and Anne Hillcoff. She will be deeply missed by her sister Barbara Anne (John Jones) of Winnipeg, Man.; mother-in-law Thelma Fletcher; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pat (Donna), Rick (Sharon), Jack (Mary), Don, all of Winnipeg, and Bert (Leslie) of Raleigh, N.C.; and her many family and friends here in Canada and the United States. Anyone who has been fortunate enough to know Rosemarie has been touched by a truly loving person. Her sincere, caring heart leaves a lasting memory of love that will never die. Her love and caring ways were almost infectious to all she met. Rosemarie spent over 20 years volunteering her time to minor sports with the Mississauga Hockey League. She was known throughout the city for her dedication and work in hockey. In 1996 she won the Mississauga Sports Administrator Award and went on to win the Canadian Volunteer Sports Administrator award in Ottawa for her work. When asked how she got involved in volunteer work, she always said, "Bob and I owe our initial involvement in minor hockey to close friends who were volunteers. Once involved, we realized how much we enjoyed contributing to the league and meeting a lot of great people. If you really want to, you can always find some spare time to help groups that support the sports activities of our children." Friends will be received at the Neweduk Funeral Home - "Mississauga Chapel," 1981 Dundas St. W. (one block east of Erin Mills Parkway), from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday. A complete funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation. At the familys request, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
