Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID FREDERICK CONFREY It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of David Frederick Confrey on Monday, June 12, 2000, beloved husband of Pat and father to Cory. Dave was predeceased by his mother Evelyn (Chase) Confrey and his grandparents, Henrietta and John Chase and Leonola and George Confrey. Dave will be sadly missed by his wife Patricia (Picard) and son Cory; his father Fred "Bud" Confrey and step-mother Georgia; his brother Greg (Ruth) sister Corinne (Tarl) Corbett, Kama, Betha and Jeff; step-brother Gary (Donna) Cooper, Brent (Karen), Todd (Adele), Shaun (Cheryl), Scott (Keri), Spencer; step-brother Ron (Debbie) Cooper, Kristl and Kara; step-sister Carol (Don) Warkentin; step-sister Myrna (Peter) Heissler and Keri Lynn; special cousin Val (Ken) Cook, Kent, Kurt (Christie) sisters-in-law Diane (Ron) Kryschuk, Lori and Karen; Deb (Harry) Isfeld, Keith and Jason Kozak. David was born February 2, 1943 and raised in Winnipeg. He attended Miles MacDonell Collegiate. He played basketball, football, baseball, hockey and was an accomplished golfer. He attended Michigan Tech on a hockey scholarship, and received a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry. He was also captain of the Michigan Tech golf team. David returned to Winnipeg and married Pat in 1971 and moved to Saskatoon where he resided until present. From 1974 to 1983 Dave owned and operated Westgate Esso in Saskatoon. In 1986 he built Cory Park Esso which he operated until 1989 at which time he sold the business. From 1989 to 1992 he managed the Macs store in Silverwood. In 1990 he started his own business, Summitt Cleaning Service. Viewing will take place Thursday, June 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bardal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook Street, with Pastor H.H. Barber presiding. Refreshments will follow the service. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery beside his mother. Active bearers will be Jason Kozak, Brent, Todd, Shaun, Scott and Spencer Cooper and honorary bearers are Ron Kryschuk, Harry Isfeld, Gary Cooper, Ken Cook, Gerry Ouellette and Darwin McMaster. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital Emergency and M.I.C.U. and Dr. Chris Turner, for their compassion and caring.
