Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJADWIGA (YADWIGA) MANDZIUK Passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord at the age of 94, Monday, June 12, 2000 at the Victoria General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband George; parents; brother Steve and son-in-law William Mykytyn. She was born in Poland and came to Canada at an early age. Jadwiga married her husband George in 1925 and raised a loving family. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1975. She was employed for many years in Public Works in custodial services retiring in 1970. She is survived by her daughters Mary Mykytyn, Joan Rogers (Alvin) son Michael (Bernice) grandsons, Ron Mykytyn, Mark Mandzik (Pina), Adam Rogers and recent arrival, great-grandson Bauer Matthew Mandzik. She was a loving mother and very devoted to her family. Family meant everything to her. She enjoyed family get togethers, gardening and especially enjoyed her many outings at her daughters cottages at Hillside Beach. Jadwiga was an exceptional cook and will be missed for her many special dinners especially her stew and soups. She had a wonderful sense of humour and was always there to listen and offer a helping hand to her family. She was a longtime member of Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church. Special thanks to her Home Care Worker, Rosa De La Cruz for the kind and loving care she gave our mother for the past two years. A very special thank you to Dr. Heather Domke for her kindness, care and compassion and also the wonderful nurses at Victoria General Hospital and staff at Misericordia Health Centre for their understanding, patience and excellent care given to our mother. Prayers will be said at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue on Thursday, June 15, at 8:00 p.m.. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, June 16, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue with Fr. Andrew Wach officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, Unit 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2 or to a charity of ones choice.
