PEARL ARVILLA ROBERTSON (nee CARLETON) Pearl Arvilla Robertson, gently slipped the bonds of life with her beloved David at her side. Cherished by all her family, Mom leaves to mourn her passing her dear husband of seventy years, David, her three children, JoAnn (McCabe), Heather (Westdal) and Robert, all their spouses Alf McCabe, John Westdal and Terry Juzak, her sister, Elsie Sanders, her nieces and nephews, Brian Sanders, Charlotte Rendall, Diana Slemko, David Robertson and James Watson, her adored grandchildren, grandnieces and nephews and her darling great grandchildren who affectionately call her G.G. All of us have basked in the warmth of Moms love throughout all our lives and it is somehow fitting that the skies should be weeping on the day of her passing. That gift of selfless love will sustain us all over the next few days and continue to be a source of strength and a beacon for us to follow forever. Mom, a true Winnipeger, was born here to Elizabeth and James Carleton, attended Wesley College and worked at the Retail Credit Union prior to meeting and marrying her life-long soulmate David Robertson in 1930. Not long after their marriage, Moms brilliant colouring and elegant poise led her into a stellar career as a fashion model. Acclaimed "The Dean of Winnipeg Models", Mom shared her talents with many and helped raise funds for various organizations through training and co-ordinating fashion shows. But we, her family, know her most as a strong, loving, beautiful woman who taught us about life, about caring and sharing, about being a friend to all, about creating a home of comfort and grace where each of us was allowed to develop as individuals, knowing we were cherished equally by her. Dads loss is profound. Our solace will be her spirit deep within each of us forever. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday June 16, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 232 Kennedy Street with Reverend Robert Murray officiating.
