Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT JOHN DOHERTY Peacefully, on Saturday, June 17, 2000, Mr. Albert Doherty passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 86. He was predeceased by his brothers; Harry, Irvine and Campbell, sisters; Addie and Marion. Albert will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jean (Truss) of 57 years, children; Nick (Lorraine) and Patricia (Les) Davis, grandchildren; Keith and Jonathan Doherty, Brian and Amy-Lynn Davis, sister; Vimy Sharp and Orrie Hollander of Calgary and sister-in-law Sonya Truss and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Albert served overseas with the Canadian Dental Corp. from 1941 - 1945. He was employed with Eatons for 24 years until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #141 and of Seniors Achievers. Dad and Mom enjoyed their trips visiting relatives in the states and Canada. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. According to Alberts wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Doug Martindale officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the Maples Personal Care Home for the care given to Albert during the last ten months. Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made in Alberts memory to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3B 2H8 or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, Man., R3C 4G2.
