KENNETH FRANK JOSEPH HALAMA On Wednesday, June 14, 2000, Ken passed away suddenly in Calgary, Alta. Ken was born in Winnipeg, Man., on August 31, 1946, son of Frank and Mary Halama. He was raised and educated in Winnipeg and went on to excel as a gourmet chef with the CNR, CPR and VIA railways, serving international dignitaries and saving his culinary specialties for the family at countless Christmas celebrations. Because of his warm and friendly manner, Ken made friends from coast to coast, especially in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Calgary. When given the opportunity, Ken would return to Kenora, Ont., home of his late grandparents. Kens relaxation was spent enjoying his extensive music collection. His passion for music extended to his singing in the Senior St. Alphonsus Choir. He was also a member of the Knight of Columbus. Left to mourn his passing is his mother Mary; sister Louise and niece Marie; and twin sister Karen (Brian) Agar and nephew Neil. He will also be sadly missed by cousins, Helen, Ed, Mildred, Agnes, Beverly and families and his many friends across Canada. He was predeceased by his father Frank and his grandparents Joseph and Elizabeth Curik. Our family wishes to extend a very special thanks to Bill and Theresa, and Kristine and Don of Calgary for their support. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 22, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Alphonsus Church on Munroe Avenue. Interment to follow in Kenora at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Harvest, or Salvation Army. "Heaven has been made a warmer place with your love of life, and your infectious laughter. Well miss you Ken."
