MIKE STASIUK Passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2000 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Mike is survived by his loving wife Olga, daughter Iris Panagapko (Lawrence) of Winnipeg, cherished granddaughter Candace of Surrey B.C. and his younger brother Steve. Mike was one of ten siblings in his family. He was predeceased by his five sisters Tillie, Annie, Nellie, Mary and Effie, three brothers John, Peter and William as well as his infant son Jim in 1939. After his marriage to Olga Siemash on November 17, 1935, Mike owned and operated a general store in Caliento, Man. until 1943. Then they moved to Rainy River, Ont. where again he owned a general store. While living in Rainy River he was employed by the C.N.R. and was transferred to Fort Frances, Ont. in 1955. After his retirement in 1978 Olga and Mike moved to Winnipeg. In 1950 Mike was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses. He enjoyed many years of faithful service to Jehovah, with the last three years being difficult due to him being disabled. As a member of the Glenlawn congregation, and despite his physical handicap he always looked forward to the congregation meetings to be with his spiritual brothers and sisters. Mike loved talking to others about the Bibles hope of a paradise earth, where sickness and death will be no more according to Rev. 21:3,4. A memorial service in Mikes memory will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall Centre, 227 Lakewood Blvd. With Milt Brown officiating. A private family graveside service and interment were held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Dr. R.
