Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOUGLAS H.T. DOHERTY (1918 - 2000) Peacefully in his sleep at home on June 15, 2000 Dad passed away. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife and partner, Doreen, of 53 years. He is survived by four children, Bill (Diane), Pat Pachol (Jim), Terry, Rick (Debbie) nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many dear friends and family. He was also predeceased by his dear friend, Phyllis, in the fall of 1999. In the early 40s, he was a member of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles military band. He worked at CN shops in Transcona until retirement in 1977. He enjoyed his time travelling with Doreen, visiting family in B.C. and to other parts of the country with the Goldeyes RV Club. In his later years with his outgoing personality he met and made many new friends. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Cremation has taken place. A service in his memory will be held Wednesday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m., Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Reception to follow. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
