GLADYS I. MILLAR With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing on June 18, 2000 at Seven Oaks General Hospital of our beloved daughter, sister, and best friend, Gladys Millar. Gladys was born on February 19, 1948 in Winnipeg. She attended David Livingstone, Issac Newton and St Johns High Schools. She worked for many years at 141 Legion and Sir Sam Steel Legion where she was very well liked. For many years she volunteered in various capacities at 141 Legion where she was Ladies Auxiliary Secretary for 14 years and served on numerous committees as well. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Colour Party and had received a life membership in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a very fun loving, caring, generous person, always willing to lend a helping hand whenever needed. She had a huge heart, especially for old timers and children as attested to by the number of nieces and nephews she had. Gladys enjoyed playing bingo, cards, shuffleboard, fishing, camping and social gatherings with family and friends. Gladys was predeceased by her father Alex in 1993; special Auntie Jean Wood in 1994 and a special friend George Goshulak in 1986. Left to mourn her loving memory are her mother Nellie (Billie) Millar; brother Jim and sister-in-law Sheila Millar; her companion for many years, Wayne Wiesner and her beloved dog Buster, the only animal she ever loved. Also left to mourn are special cousins, Kay and Raymond Bourgeois; god-child Melanie Capone; close friend Elaine Funk and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Service will terminate at the Chapel with cremation to follow. Honorary Pallbearers will be all those at the Service. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
