MURIEL CHISLETT The family of Mrs. Muriel Chislett sadly announces her passing. She was surrounded by family and friends at home, after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Wilfred; son Mark and wife Kristi and grandchildren Kevin and Shawn; son Matt; daughter Nancy; sister Bernice Gindrod and husband Peter of Belleville; brother George Cummings and wife Muriel of Winnipeg; sisters-in-law Mrs. Dorothy Warner and husband Meritt of Ottawa, and Mrs. Kay McPherson and husband Jack of Belwood, Ontario. Muriel was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and lived in Melville before moving to Winnipeg. In Winnipeg, she was tremendously active with St. Stephens Anglican Church. She also participated in Mothers Union. Muriel was a kind, gentle soul; totally devoted to her family, and to the welfare of friends and neighbours. When reflecting on her role as a mother and granny, she said she loved all her children and grandchildren, and that was the reason she was put on this earth. Her sense of duty also extended to her many friends and fellow parishioners. The congregation and community will share this loss. Muriels wish was that any donations, if desired, may be made to St. Stephens Anglican Church. The family extends their thanks to the health care professionals for the compassionate care they gave Muriel over the years, as well as St. Stephens minister, Donna Mahussier. A service honouring Muriels life will be held Thursday, June 22 at St. Stephens Anglican Church, 220 Helmsdale Ave., at 1:30 p.m. A private interment will be held before the service.
