Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY WASYLYK (nee KOLBA) Peacefully taken into Gods caring hands on June 19, 2000 at the age of 99, at Central Park Lodge. Mary was born April 12, 1901, daughter of early pioneers Nick and Kathleen Kolba of Hadishville, Manitoba. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Anastasia ONeill, her sister-in-law Wilma Kolba; nieces Linda Ouellet (Gilles), Kathy McCuaig, Patsy ONeill, Delores Kolba, and Helen Wolski; her nephews William ONeill (Elizabeth), Robert ONeill (Carol), William Kolba, Peter Kolba and Werner Kolba, many grand nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Nick in 1979, her brothers John, Harry, Dan, Fred and Tom, sisters Pearl, Anna and Pauline and niece Anne Kolba. Mary was a successful business woman who had an excellent work ethic and organizational and leadership skills. She worked and managed a furrier for 24 years and owned and managed the Hillside Hotel in Inwood Manitoba. She and her husband retired in 1962 and travelled all through Canada, United States and Mexico. They enjoyed the outdoors and boating was a favourite pastime at their cottage in the Whiteshell. Mary, who was known as "Aunt" Mary by everyone, loved her family and friends unconditionally. She loved to cook and entertain and on many occasions prepared a feast fit for a king. It was always fun going to Aunt Marys house. She was generous in many ways, often lifting our spirits with her positive and loving attitude. She was a class act and role model we wanted to emulate Mary was a member of St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church and a member of New Horizon Senior Centre Club at 179 Main Street. In her later years, Mary lived at the Life Care Centre at the Marlborough Hotel and The Quest Inn. She then moved to Central Park Lodge on Edmonton Street. She made many friends with staff and residents and will be missed by all who knew her. Our sincere thanks to Marion and Betty and all the wonderful staff at Central Park Lodge who loved her and cared so tenderly for her. Prayers will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Street at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23. Rt. Rev. Mitrat J. Holowaty will officiate and interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery on Hwy. #9 just past Middlechurch, Man. Pallbearers will be William ONeill, Gilles Ouellet, Robert ONeill, Guy Mastaler, Lance Mastaler, and Rick Maskiew. Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, phone 586-8044 in charge of arrangements.
