MARY KATHLEEN MATTES Peacefully on June 20, 2000 at her new home in Lions Manor, Mary Kathleen Mattes passed away. Mary was predeceased by her husband George. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Allan (Margaret), Ken (Darlene), Carla (Phil), Jack (Carmen), Gina (Shelley) and Kathy (Ken), several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, numerous friends and family. Mary came from a large family of two brothers and was always proud that she was one of the seven sisters. Left to mourn are two sisters, Betty Goddard and Pauline (Russ) Colyer. Mary was born in Sudbury, ON and eventually settled in Winnipeg. Mary and George were married in 1942 and celebrated the joyous occasion of their 50th Wedding Anniversary on September 19, 1992. Mary worked at Eatons for 17 years, was a member of the Harrow United Church Choir and a lifelong member of the Rockwood Army & Navy. Her greatest joys were her family, music, and entertaining. Mom was a wonderful hostess and enjoyed having friends and family in her home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 23 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street with visitation one hour prior. Interment Brookside Cemetery.
