WAYNE MILLEN JOHNSTON Peacefully, on June 21, 2000, Wayne Millen Johnston, age 56 years, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre following a courageous battle against Leukemia. Wayne was born in Russell, MB on March 24, 1944 to Russell and Wilhelmina Johnston. Wayne was employed for 37 years as a Supervisor with Manitoba Hydro and had just retired June 1, 2000. In his leisure time he always enjoyed spending time amongst family and friends throughout Manitoba. Winter months would see him spend many nights curling at the Springfield Curling Club. In past years Wayne was very active in Minor hockey and baseball in Winnipeg. Left to mourn are his two sons, Keith and Kyle Johnston and their mother Brenda Johnston (Buckingham) grandson Bradley; his sister Glynis (Denton) Danielson and brothers, Marvin (Gail) Johnston and Millen (Mona) Johnston; his special friend Gini Martin and her three sons, Danny, Clint and Brodie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family would like to thank Drs. Caners, Harris, Bow, Rubinger, Wiebe and Rajah for all their valiant efforts. We would also like to thank all of the staff of GD6 at the Health Sciences Centre - your care and friendship during our most difficult time was greatly appreciated. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Luxton Avenue. Interment will be in Binscarth Manitoba at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Waynes memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia Street, Winnipeg, R3C 9Z9. Youre gone, but will never be forgotten.
