GORDON GEORGE MITCHELL Gordon George Mitchell, beloved husband of Wilma for 55 years passed away on June 23, 2000 at the Concordia Hospital after a courageous battle. He is also survived by his daughters Marilyn and Maureen and her husband Kip, granddaughter Andrea, sister Allene (Gordon) Woodfield of Nanaimo, B.C. and brother-in-law George Sloan of Toronto, ON. Gordon was born in Winnipeg on September 13, 1922. He enjoyed a successful career as a mechanical draftsman. He was twice president of ASHRAE and a former member of Elmhurst Golf and Country Club. He was a talented wood carver. Gordon and Wilma spent many happy winters in Palm Springs with friends. Special thanks to Dr. S. Loewen and the wonderful caring staff at Concordia Hospital third floor N.E. A gathering will be held in Gordons memory on Tuesday, June 27, at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint).
