Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) MORRISON It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, James (Jim) Morrison, on June 23, 2000, at 87 years of age. Jim died with his family at his side. Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Ann; son Bill (Chris) daughters, Judi (Don) Simpson and Janis (Jim) Bean, plus his grandchildren, Jackie, Marlies, Pam (Brian), Brad, Blake, Karen and Catharine; and his great-grandchildren, Evan and Marlies. Also surviving are his brothers, Charles (Mary) and Arthur (Edith) sisters, Blanche, Dorothy and Kay and sister-in-law Helen. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Horace and Kent and sister Edith. Jim was born in Craighurst, Ont., in 1913 and moved to Manitoba in 1919 where the family farmed in the Rosser District. In 1940 he moved to Winnipeg and worked as an auto mechanic for River Brothers. He and Ann wed in 1940 after a long courtship and had three children. He joined the army in 1942 and served overseas until 1945. Shortly after his return he joined Trans Canada Airlines (Air Canada) as a Certified Aircraft Technician and worked there until his retirement in 1976. Jims hobbies included gardening, camping, hunting, fishing and target shooting. In 1982 he joined the North Centennial Seniors Swimming Club and spent many happy years with the new friends he met there. Jims biggest joy was his family. A special thank you to all the staff on 3 West, Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2:00 p.m. at Sparling United Church, Reverend Harry Ritchie officiating. A private family graveside service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Ave. W., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 1C4, or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 885-9715.
