MILTON (JERRY) HOLOWCHUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Milton Holowchuk on June 23, 2000 at the Pinawa Hospital. Besides his loving wife Mildred and best friend of 54 years, he will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gary and wife Gina and grandchildren, Cory and Jane of Edmonton, daughter Susan and husband Rick Cronin and grandchildren, Chris and Lindsay of Abbotsford, BC. He is also survived by five sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. Milt was born on March 23, 1920 in Winnipeg, MB. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He so loved his grandchildren with all his heart. Milt joined the R.C.A.F. in 1941 and spent four years in England. After leaving the R.C.A.F. in 1945 he worked for Strong & Scott Mfg. Before coming to the Whiteshell to work for AECL (Atomic Energy of Canada) in Pinawa in 1965. He was a member of the Pinawa town council for six years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 in Lac du Bonnet. Milt retired in 1984 and stayed in Pinawa and enjoyed curling and golfing for many more years. He and his wife travelled to many parts of the world together by car and plane, making Hawaii one of the most favourite places to stay. He was predeceased by his parents; his only brother Dan; his mother and father-in-law and his brother-in-law Stanley. The family wishes to thank Dr. Petkau, nurses and staff at the Pinawa Hospital for their excellent service. Also thank you to St. Boniface Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for the wonderful care given to Milt while in the hospital as well as many visitors and family members. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Miltons memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 9Z9. Parastas - burial service - will be sung on Wednesday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. with Fr. Terry Kraychuk presiding.
