Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBELLA GERSHMAN (nee ROSENBLAT) Peacefully, on June 22, 2000 after a lengthy illness, Bella Gershman, at the age of 86 years, passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Bella never put anything, including her own needs, before those of her family, even when faced with her own hardships and personal challenges. Her strength and independence were her hallmarks. Bella was born in Winnipeg on December 31, 1913 and lived there all her life. With her late husband, Joe, they owned and operated Gershman Produce for many years. After retiring, she devoted her life to her family. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, and sisters Gertie, Annie, Janet, and brothers Donnie, Ernie, and Moishe, and son-in-law Harry Palatnick. Bella is survived by her daughter Marlene Palatnick, son Lewis Gershman (Val), sister Ruth Kirshner; grandchildren Wesley Palatnick (Lorraine), Robin Geller (Phil), Gayle Palatnick (friend Doug Norberg), Jonathan Gershman (Johanne), Ricki Hall (Brad), Darryl Gershman, and Cory Gershman; great-grandchildren Carrie, Kimberly, Jeffrey, Mark, Jordan, Ezra and Gavriel, sister-in-law Molly Rosenblat, brother-in-law George Gershman (Gloria) and numerous nieces and nephews. We would like to give special thanks to Dr. David Ross, Dr. Mike Paterson, the staff of the 5th floor, Seven Oaks General Hospital, Betty and Irene from Home Care and Penny from the VON for their care and compassion. Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 25, at the Chesed Shel Emes. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice. Bobbi, you will live in our hearts forever. For all those times you stood for me. For all the truth that you made me see. For all the joy you brought to my life. For all the wrong that you made right. For every dream you made came true. For all the love I found in you. Ill be forever thankful. You were always there for me. Youre the one who helped me up, never let me fall. Youre the one who saw me through it all. You were my strength when I was weak. You saw the best there was in me. Lifted me up when I couldnt reach. You gave me faith cause you believed. You gave me wings and made me fly You touched my hand I could touch the sky. I lost faith, you gave it back to me. You stood by me, and I stood tall. I had your love, I had it all. Im grateful for each day you gave me. I dont know that much, but I know this much is true. I was blessed because I was loved by all of you.

14, cold, damp, sleeping in abandoned cars -plenitful at the time and thrown to the streets at a tender young age twisted by life. At first I was part time cleaning offices, and the bathrooms and anything till closing time. It was enough to get a room nearby and have enough for bread, milk and luncheon meat. She was a kind woman, as well as Mary and Marlene who cared a lot. Slowly I worked in full time and took care of the coolers and such, rotating product, unloading semi's, running forklift and so many duties. I believe I was liked by all except one character - feeling mutual of course. I still wonder if Lewis ever liked me at all or cared to have me around. But to Bella, if God has cradled you in His arms and brought a beautiful spiritual life to live on - then I'd be so happy. You took that kid, helped him along part of the road in a rocky road in life, and gave me shelter, food and work. Thanks too, for Marlene who honestly cared. I'm now so much older and have many tales in life, but always in the employ of good employers who cared for their good workers. Without you Bella, I may have not been here today. You gave me the confidence of worth, hope and I had something to give myself as an employee. So, God bless you Bella, you will never be forgotten. RM - Posted by: R.
