Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA CONCETTA (MARY) CANCILLA (nee CASCISA) Peacefully, on June 24, 2000, the day before her 92nd birthday, Mary (Tootsie) Cancilla passed away at Fred Douglas Lodge with her family at her side. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary put the needs of others first her whole life. Volunteering in many charities and organizations, which included the Third Order Servants of Mary, the Catholic Womens League, the Orphans of St. Joseph and working along with her mother to build the Holy Rosary Church. Most of all Mary gave to her family loving care. She rejoins her husband Frank; her parents, Sam and Josie Cascisa; brother Sam and sister-in-law Jennie in their eternal life. Mary leaves memories to be cherished by her sister Josephine Dercola (Mike) son Pat (Enid), their children, Jodeane, Devon (Jean), Braden (Tamara), Erin Melloy (Brian) son Sam (Frances), grandson Frank; her daughter Joanne Kopec (Clifford), their children, Clifford, David, Anna Zukowski (Ron), Patrick, John, Mary Ann Kulik (Glenn), James (Laura), Michelle Schlosser (Bill), Chris (Wanda) and 14 great-grandchildren who will always miss their "hotel" grandma. Prayers and a celebration of Marys life will be held on Wednesday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on June 29 at 10:00 a.m., also at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Interment to follow in the Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Thanks to the staff at Betel Home in Gimli and Fred Douglas Lodge, especially Diane Schwestak for guiding us on Mom/Grandmas journey. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
