SYLVESTER KUMHYR Sylvester Kumhyr passed away peacefully at his home in East Braintree, MB on Friday, June 23, 2000 at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn his daughter Linda; grandson Floyd (Shelley) great-grandchildren, Nicci and Kaci; sister Katherine; and numerous family members. Sylvester was predeceased by his loving wife Elena; son-in-law Johnny; brothers, John, Mike, Morris, John and a brother in infancy; sisters, Mary, Ann, Julie, Tacyna. Sylvester ran the local general store in East Braintree for 34 years and the post office for 13 years. He loved travelling through Canada and the U.S.A. Even with his failing health, he would say "that the grass was his to trim and cut". His greatest joy was going to work with his grandson Floyd. Sylvester also enjoyed a good card game. Thanks to Linda, as Sylvester would put it "a special nurse". A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 1:00 p.m. in Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Hwy No.1 East at Navin Road.
