RONALD (RON) KATCHIN Ronald (Ron) Katchin of Winnipeg, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2000, at the St. Boniface General Hospital, Winnipeg, at the age of 52 years. Ron was predeceased by his wife Bernice on May 15, 2000. Ron is survived by his mother Margaret Katchin of Russell; brother Eugene and wife Maryallan Katchin of Beaverdell, B.C., sister Shirley and husband Nelson Baranyk and their children Mike and Shane all of Brandon; sister-in-law Agnes Katchin of Brandon and her family. Brenda and Clinton Pushka of Angusville, Karen and Greg Cochrane of Silverton, Lisa and Brad Alfredson of Calgary, Glen and Vicki Katchin of Angusville and their families. Also surviving are his parents-in-law, Mike and Lena Tanasychuk of Rossburn; brother-in-law Conrad and wife Joanne of Minneapolis; two sisters-in-law, Janet and husband Bob Michalyshyn and their daughter Chelsey of Winnipeg and Elaine and husband Willie Mackle and children, Kristen, Trisha and Willie of Kelowna, B.C. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 29 at 10:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church (Orthodox Service), Rossburn. Interment will follow in the St. Elias Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery, Rossburn. Prayers will be said Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Ukrainian Catholic Church (Orthodox Service), Rossburn. The Very Rev. Father Orest Hudyma will officiate. If friends so desire donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of their choice. Raes Funeral Service of Shoal Lake are in care of arrangements.
