MARIA RUSIECKI It is with great sorrow and heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Maria Rusiecki on June 27, 2000 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Maria was born in Salesia, Belarus on October 10, 1905. She was predeceased by her husband Nick and daughter Zina. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her daughter and her husband John Burdz; son Melvin and wife Kaisu Rusiecki; and son Lawrence Rusiecki, all of Winnipeg; son-in-law John Bobyn; grandchildren, Slavko, Bohdan and Irene Bobyn of Munich, Germany. Lucy Landry and husband Claude of Calgary, Maria and Don Hall of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Tammy Rusiecki of Vancouver, Paul Burdz and wife Shirley, Peter Rusiecki and Justin Myers, all of Winnipeg; as well as 11 great-grandchildren. "She was always there to lend a hand, to give advice, to smile, to comfort or encourage, or just to be with you a while. She was a special woman whose love and caring seemed to have no end. She was a Mother, a Mom, a Grandmother and a lifelong Friend." Special thanks to St. Josephs Section of the Holy Family Nursing Home for all their care and kindness. Prayers will be said on Thursday, June 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Avenue. Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 643 Manitoba Ave., with Fr. Anatoly Melnyk officiating. Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Vichnaya Pamyat Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 586-8044.
