LAURINA ENCARNACAO REZENDES CARREIRO It is with our deepest sorrow to announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother Laurina Encarnacao Rezendes Carreiro on June 25, 2000 at Maples Personal Care Home. Laurina was born on January 17, 1907 in Sao Miguel Acores, Portugal. She is predeceased by her husband Jacinto Carreiro and daughter Laurina Carreiro. Laurina came to Canada in December of 1972 where she had devoted all of her time in helping her daughter Maria Sardinha raise her children. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her daughters, Maria E. (Horacio) Sardinha of Winnipeg, Maria Lurdes (Manuel) Cordeiro of Thunder Bay, Guilhermina (Armando) Carreiro of Edmonton, Maria (Laureano) Paiva, Virgina (Silvino) Pas, Alda (Edmundo) Carreiro, all of Portugal, and her sons, Jose Maria (Donaria) Carreiro of Winnipeg, Antonio (Lurdes) Rezendes of Edmonton, Jacinto (Teriza) Rezendes of Portugal. She had 38 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. We would like to thank the staff of 2 west for all of their love and personal care and also a special thanks to Ella (manager). Prayers will be said on Thursday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Fr. Jose Medeiros officiating. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery. We love you very much and will never forget all that you had done for us. You will be in our hearts forever.
