Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK EDWARD MOORHOUSE Passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on June 24, 2000 in Delta, B.C. Beloved husband for 51 years of Betty (Baker) father of Kathy (David Lines), Nancy (Garry Hastings) and Ted (Diane) and loving granddad to Trevor and Stephen Lines, Katie and Michael Hastings, and Sarah and Andrea Moorhouse. Frank was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on January 24, 1925, son of the late Edward Richard and Sabina (Gunnarson) Moorhouse and brother of Rhoda (Stewart Hutchings). In 1943, he volunteered to serve with great pride as a Flying Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was en route to serve the war effort in Europe when the war ended. After the war, he joined his father at Graham-Moorhouse Ltd. in the custom millwork business. As President of Photo Scan Central in the late 1960s, Frank was elected President of the Protective Officers Association and was later appointed an Honourary Life Member. In 1978, Frank and Betty moved to British Columbia to run a hobby and card shop, retiring in 1989. Throughout his professional life, Frank earned the respect of his colleagues, his staff and his customers as a man of integrity and human decency. He embodied the values of honour, fairness and respect. He was an intelligent and gentle man with a unique and clever wit and a warm and affectionate sense of humour. He loved his family, his dogs and his garden. He loved the game of golf as a player (the "sweet swinger") and as a teacher to his children and grandchildren. His passion was music. He spent countless happy hours listening to and collecting music, and he thoughtfully shared his vast and varied collection with his family and friends. His unerring sense of right and wrong and the manner in which he lived his life have been and always will be an inspiration to his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30 at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, Surrey, B.C. A private burial will follow at St. Johns Cathedral in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or to the charity of ones choice.
