DULCIE MARGARETTE SCHMIDT (HORNE)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDULCIE MARGARETTE SCHMIDT (nee HORNE) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Dulcie Schmidt, age 81, passed away on June 26, 2000. She was born February 19, 1919 in Couldson Surrey England, moving to Canada with her parents in 1926. Dulcie married Horace Horsman in 1938 and later worked for Sears. She was predeceased by her infant son William in 1940 and her husband Horace in 1981. Dulcie moved to Victoria in 1992 to live with her son and daughter-in-law. She became a member and a willing volunteer at the Juan De Fuca Seniors Center where she met and later married, Edmund Schmidt in 1997. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Edmund; son Wayne (Audrey) Horseman; daughter-in-law Ruth (Glen) Long; grandsons, Carl (Brenda) Horsman, Dwayne (Chris) Long, Darren (Colleen) Long; granddaughters, Valerie (Jeff) Huesken, Patricia Long; great-granddaughter Holly Huesken, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at the Juan De Fuca Seniors Center Thursday, June 29 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Kevin Fletcher and Reverend Don Hatfield officiating. Interment at Hatley Memorial Gardens. Many thanks to Dr. Derek Cooper, the nurses, home care workers and staff for their care and kindness during Dulcies illness at her home, Victoria General Hospital, Royal Jubilee Hospital and Richmond Pavilion Hospice.
