WILFRED REGINALD YOUNG Wilf passed away June 27, 2000 at Oakview Personal Care Home. He was in his 92nd year. Wilf was predeceased by his parents, Annie and Reg Young; his wife Muriel in 1984; one brother Lawrence 1998 and one sister Clarene 1999. He is survived by brothers, Irving (Grace) Young of Winnipeg, Robert Young of Souris; sisters, Phyllis Rugg of Winnipeg and Audrey (Garth) Wilson of Nanaimo, numerous nieces and nephews. Also special friend Eileen Webb of Winnipeg. Wilf was born July 1, 1907 in Waterville, Quebec and moved with his family to Winnipeg at an early age. He was employed by the T. Eaton Co. and retired after 49 years of service. He also served in the army reserve for many years. Wilf was a life time member of The Fire Fighters Historical Society, and a member of Assiniboine Lodge #114 Masonic Grand Lodge of Manitoba A.F & A.M. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Avenue with Rev. Jamie Howison officiating. The family wish to thank the staff at Oakview for their care and compassion.
