CHARLIE TRACHUK Peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre, Charles Trachuk passed away at the age of 81. Besides his beloved wife of 60 years, Elizabeth, he will be dearly missed by his children, Caroline (Brinki), St. Albert, AB, Virginia (John), Fisher Branch, Gladys (Jim) Newmarket, ON, Mildred (Eugene) Winnipeg, Frank, Scarborough, ON, Irene, Winnipeg, Danny (Bev) Fisher Branch, Eddie (Linda) Fisher Branch, Marilyn (Ian), Winnipeg, Lorraine (Kelly) Nagoya, Japan, His grandchildren, David, Jennifer, Gayleen, Tracy, Diane, Sandra, Jason, Lyle, Lori, Kassandra, Lonny, Shawna, Krisy, Ashley, Dawn, Heather, Tegan, Kyra, Riley and Trip and great-grandchildren, Kyle, Waylon, Kanesha and Sydney; also his brother Walter and in-laws, Charlie and Amy, Emily and Joe, Mike, John, Annie, Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Sophie Trachuk and sister Mildred Golas. Charlie was born in Zbaraz where he farmed until his retirement in 1975, when he and Elizabeth moved to Fisher Branch. He never gave up his love for the farm. Until the end, he was still driving by the boys fields checking the crops. Charlie was a caring, compassionate person with a contagious sense of humour and his greatest joy was being with his family and friends. He was proud of his involvement with the Knights of Columbus and spent many hours selling Nevadas for them and volunteering at functions. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 29, Immaculate Conception Church, 1:00 p.m. Father David Kowalski officiating. Interment to follow at the St. Anthonys Cemetery, Zbaraz. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Delude, Joe Chyzy, Tony Chudyk, Lorne Neault Jr., Joe Malenchak and Robert Obszarski. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, David Gudmunson, Lonny Wilson, Lyle Baraniuk, Jason Shewell, Riley Trachuk, Scott and Trip Trachuk Scott. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses of Percy Moore Hospital for their excellent care. The staff of Health Sciences Centre, MICU, and H4, are to be commended for their passion and caring attitudes, especially Dr. Iona Ciric and nurses, Arlene and Rhonda. Thank you to sister Diane, father Terry, Monsignor Comeau and Daly for their blessing and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Fisher Personal Care Home, Fisher Branch, MB, R0C 0Z0. Thank you Dad (Tato) for being you - rest in peace.
