ANTON TOFAN Peacefully, at the Vita Health and District Care Home, Anton Tofan, beloved husband of Nettie (Kozak) father of Patricia (Denis St. Onge), and grandfather of Sheryl-Lee (Anthony Bickle) and sister of Pauline Tofan, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2000. Anton was born March 14, 1910 in Tolstoi, MB. He was predeceased by his parents, Nickola and Maria Tofan; sisters, Ann Saranchuk and Sophie Domanski; brothers, John, Bill, Peter, Steve, Mat and Mike Tofan. Anton, during his lifetime worked out of province for several years then returned to Tolstoi, married and farmed on the homestead until retiring to the village of Tolstoi in 1978. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, dear neighbours and many friends. The family wishes to extend their thanks to all the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Vita Hospital and Care Home for their generous care and attention provided at our time of need. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Antons memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Prayers will be said on Friday, June 30 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Ave. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 10:00 a.m. also at Cropo Funeral Chapel, with Very Rev. Fr. Henry Lakusta officiating. Private family interment to take place on Monday, July 3 at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest Kozak, Donald Machnee, Wasyl Kozak, Maurice Rybuck, Glen Podolsky, Gilles Ferland and Kenneth Jacques. Vichnaya Pamyat Eternally remembered Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements; 586-8044.
