ALAM MACALUA SUMUGOD January 1, 1931 - June 26, 2000 On Monday, June 26, 2000, Alam Macalua Sumugod passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. He is survived by his loving wife Editha and four children, Ethel (Gerry), John Clark, Ricardo, Oliver and two grandchildren, Tristan and Trisha. Also left to mourn are his sister Quina (Fermin) Yap and family; brother Salvador (Asuncion) Uy and family and sister-in-law Dolphing Macalua and family. Alam was born in Hilaitan, Guihulgan, Negros Oriental, Philippines on January 1, 1931. He worked in Sabah, Malaysia for 30 years and retired in the Philippines before moving to Winnipeg in 1993. Viewing will be held Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1 at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. between 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight both nights. Funeral service will take place on Sunday, July 2 at 1:00 p.m. at West Park SDA Church, 416 Cathcart, Charleswood, Chaplain Ken Perry officiating. Private family cremation will follow.
