TOM EVANKEVICH Tom Evankevich passed away suddenly on June 27, 2000 at the age of 73 years at the Victoria General Hospital. Born in Lonesand, MB to William and Kesnia. He is survived by his beloved wife Verna; daughter Elaine; son-in-law Steve; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Brent. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary, Olga, Nettie, Irene, Jean, Alice, Adele, Vera and their families as well as many nieces and nephews. Tom was a very ambitious worker. He worked most of his life owning and operating the family business, a lumber and construction company which he loved. Mostly he loved his grandchildren, Matthew and Brent, watching them playing sports and playing with them at every opportunity. Tom was a faithful church goer and believed in God. He also enjoyed singing in the choir. One of his great pleasures in life was fishing and being outdoors. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Ernie Hafichuk and Deacon Krochak at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St., Winnipeg, at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3. Interment at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
