Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIE KIRKBRIDE On June 22, 2000, at Victoria General Hospital, Marie Kirkbride of Winnipeg passed away suddenly but peacefully with her family by her side. Predeceased by her husband Tom in May, 1998, and by her sisters Sandy, Nell and Florence, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Richardson of Winnipeg, her grandson Graeme Richardson of Waterloo, sisters Barb (husband Roy) of San Diego, Kay of Edmonton, brother Mac of Edmonton, nieces and nephews. Marie was born April 14, 1914, in Smoky Lake, Alberta. She lived most of her life in her favourite city of Calgary, moving to Winnipeg following the loss of her husband. Artistic by nature, over the years Marie enjoyed needlework, sewing, painting and pottery. She was responsible for the production of costumes for numerous Calgary musicals and ballet performances. Together with Tom, she played a leading role in the formation of the Calgary Cooperative Association, and was proud to become the very first member of the Co-op Centre Credit Union (now First Calgary Savings and Credit Union). For a number of years she was employed by Co-op Insurance of Calgary (The Cooperators). Marie was a very kind person who understood the hardships of others and always tried to help them feel better. She will be sadly missed by her family and her close circle of longtime friends in Calgary and her newer friends in Winnipeg. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the Tenant Lounge of Armadale Hollows, 1750 Pembina Highway. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Maries memory to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331-29th St., N.W. Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2. Special thanks are extended to Dr. S.K. Young, Home Care attendant Joanne, the staff of Armadale Hollows and especially to Jean Richardson. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
