LEONORE HELEN EWERT Passed away peacefully June 23, 2000 in Santa Barbara, California. She is survived by her mother, Helen Ewert (nee DeFehr) and was predeceased by her father, Henry. She will be remembered by her many cousins, aunt and uncles. Leonore was born in Winnipeg on August 6, 1935. She was baptized in 1947. The Ewerts also lived in Ontario for a few years prior to immigrating to California. Leonore was a teacher with interests in music and art. She was awarded a three year Graduate School Fellowship. She spent a year lecturing on American Literature in Germany. Leonore was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy degree in English in 1968. She was a professor of English in the California state college system, as well as in Victoria, B.C. She has a strong Christian faith and a deep loving devotion to her parents. A family memorial service was held in Winnipeg.
