Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGWENNETH LORENE MCNABB (nee JACKSON) Suddenly on Wednesday, June 28, 2000 Gwen passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 69 years. Left to cherish her memory and love are her children, Robert, Cheryl (Gerald Davis), Kevin and Lisa (Michael Bertram) her grandchildren, Amanda and Brady Davis, Scott McNabb and Andrew, Logan and Hannah Bertram. Also left to mourn is her sister Doris Ogden of Whitehorn, California, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Gwen was predeceased by Gordon, her loving husband of 46 years; her brother Mac Jackson and her parents, Islay and Donald Jackson. Gwen was born July 20, 1930 in the Basswood district of western Manitoba. She grew up on the family farm with her brother and sister, attending schools in Basswood, Minnedosa and Winnipeg. Gwen graduated from Normal School in Winnipeg, embarking on a brief teaching career. She married Gordon in 1953 and raised her family of whom she was very proud. Gwens love for music abounded all of her life. She sang as a soloist and choir member in various church and community choirs. She devoted many years to the music at Windsor Park United and was most recently a member of the Westworth senior choir. Grandma was an anchor for her family, a beacon of love and pride for her children and grandchildren. Gwens wishes were to be cremated and placed to rest alongside her beloved husband Gordon. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3 at Westworth United Church, Grosvenor at Lanark, with Reverend Clark Saunders officiating. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or a charity of choice.
