OLGA (LILLIAN) YAWORSKY Peacefully on Thursday, June 28, 2000 in her daughters home in Brandon. Olly, aged 82, beloved mother will be dearly missed by Diane and husband Ron, Alana and husband Mike, Deena and husband George, Bill and wife Corinne and Baba of Joseph, and wife Samantha, Alan and wife Lucy, Eric, Liane, Shara, David, Billy and Matty. Predeceased by husband Bill in 1983, as well as sisters, Anne, Pauline, Mary, Stella and brothers, Nick, Bill, Mike, John and Peter. Olly is survived by sister Kay and brother Joe, both of Winnipeg. Olly was born and educated in Cloverleaf, MB. Her early childhood was filled with happy memories as one of twelve children growing up on the farm in rural Manitoba. She spent some of her happiest years as an elevator operator at Eatons and at the Aerovox in Hamilton during the Second World War. Some of her favourite pastimes were gardening, reading and playing bingo and VLTs. Olly was an avid football and baseball fan. She was a superb cook and she delighted in preparing Ukrainian dishes. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 3, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint). A mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. off Ward Ave. in River Park South, St. Vital. Interment at Garry Memorial Gardens on McGillivray Blvd. in Fort Garry. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the parish hall. Donations may be made, if friends desire to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
