KONRAD WALETZKY On Wednesday, June 28, 2000, two weeks before his 90th birthday, at Seven Oaks Hospital, the Lord took Kon to eternal rest. He will be missed and remembered always, with love, by his wife Lillian. He leaves his son Laurie (Ann) daughter Darlene Ocharuk (Tom) four grandchildren, James (Dani), Stacey (Steven), Darren and Bradley and two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Tayden; also sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service to be held in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1456 Arlington St., on Tuesday, July 4 at 2:00 p.m. Viewing one hour before the service. Kon worked for Royal Crown Soaps, then Lever Brothers for 21 years until the plant moved to Toronto. He then started a new career with Strong Scott Mfg., working there until his retirement in 1975. Kon was a longtime member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and also a Gold Card member of the Canadian German Society. Kon was an avid bowler, bowling his last game in the spring of 1996 at the age of 85. He also enjoyed fishing; most of his happiest times were spent bowling and fishing. The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers of Fred Douglas Lodge in Oak and Spruce, for the patience, kindness and care shown to Konrad since his move there in March, 1997. We would especially like to thank Joyce McLean, who always made sure he ate his meals. Also thanks to Adam Ruff for his almost daily visits, and his wife Ruth, for the patience and kindness shown to Kon.
