WILLIAM (BILL) BAMBURAK MAY 9, 1918 - JUNE 29, 2000 Peacefully, on Thursday, June 2000 at 8:30 a.m., surrounded by his family, Bill Bamburak passed away after a brief battle with cancer at the Health Sciences Centre. Bill is survived by his wife Alice, daughters; Joan Wiebe and Shirley Parfeniuk(Ken), three grandchildren Darrin Wiebe (Pam), Trina Einarson (Collin) and Randy Wiebe, two very precious great grandchildren, Brady Einarson and Karli Wiebe. Brady loved to visit his Cookie Gigi Also survived by brother Joe (Nancy). He was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Dan, Sam, Mike, Peter, John, and sisters, Mary and Kay. Bill retired from the CN and VIA Rail in 1978 after 35 years of service starting off as a cook and ending his career as a sleeping car conductor. Dad made two trips to Portugal on a golf holiday and a few trips to Florida. It took him a while to get into golf, but once he got hooked on the game, it was hard to keep him off the course. He was always watching some sport telecast, but was proud to watch his two grandsons, Darrin and Randy play football. Grandpa was always there for Trinas Christmas Concerts and Dance Recitals. His favorite times were spent with his grandchildren, where a day with Grandpa meant a round of Minature Golf and then a stop at McDonalds. Special thank you to neighbour Eugene who was always available to drive Dad around and just for being there for Dad. Also thank you to sister-in-law Jean Sullivan for all the extra attention you gave to Dad. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Health Sciences Centre GA4, especially Leo and Bernice for their compassion and care of our Dad which made his passing easier. In accordance with Dads wishes, a Private Family Graveside Service will take place Wednesday, July 5th at 1:00 p.m. His ashes will be interred beside his brother John at the St Marys Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Rembrandt, MB. Services will be officiated by Deacon Peter Chorney. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook Street, Wpg R3C 2B7 or to a charity of your choice. Forever in our Memories Alice, Joan, Shirley, Ken, Darrin, Pam, Trina, Collin, Randy, Brady and Karli. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 586-8044
