DUEANE LEGARY On Monday, July 3, 2000, surrounded by the love of his family, Dueane Legary passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 69 years. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife of 48 years, Leona; sons, Bruce (Cindy) and Clark; daughter Angela (LeRoy Fitzgerald) grandchildren, Jennie and Justin. He also leaves his sister Jean and his brothers, Eldon (Shirl), Melvin (Winnie) and Ken (Bev), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dueane was predeceased by his mother Margaret; his father Fred and his sister Mildred. Dueane was a devoted family man and a loving husband, father and grandfather. Dueane had a great zest for life; he found excitement in nature and in all of Gods works. He had an extraordinary gift for making people feel at ease. A stranger instantly became a new friend. He had a true love for music and enjoyed playing with others who shared his passion. Dueanes adventurous spirit led him to California on several occasions, beginning in 1963. He established permanent residence for his family and an appliance business in San Jose in 1981. Nonetheless, he always looked forward to returning to Winnipeg where he would visit with family and friends. Regardless of where he lived, or the challenges he faced, Dueane maintained a positive outlook on life while bringing a warm smile to those close to him. Funeral services will be held at the Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. in Winnipeg, on Thursday, July 6 at 1:00 p.m. Fr. G.R. Killen will officiate. Interment will take place in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. following the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Dueanes memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg R3B 2H8.
