Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDGAR BARDARSON Dad slipped peacefully away to join our mother on Sunday, July 2, 2000. Born May 29, 1915 at Laland in the Geysir district of Manitoba. Son of Eirikur and Margaret (Nordal) Bardarson. Predeceased by his wife, Nellie, in 1991 and siblings Arnold, Inga, Valla, and Siggi. Survived by son Gordon (Connie) of Arborg; daughter Dolores (Stefan) Bjornson of Riverton; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Liz), Trisha (Kevin), Tammy (Dan), Nicole (Shane), Serena (Barrett), Chris, Erica (Reagan) six great-grandchildren, Hogan, Hannah, Amber, Tanner, Halley, and Soren; brother Hernit (Josie) of Gimli; sister, Runa Cuffling of Victoria; sisters-in-law, Anne Bardarson of Hnausa, Alice Bardarson of Golden, BC, and Rose Machura of Atikokan, ON; brother-in-law and friend, Mike Tucker; faithful friend and companion, "Lady". Edgar was a small engine mechanic. Before his retirement, he was a CAT operator for the R.M. of Bifrost for many years. He retired to repairing, woodworking, gardening and story telling. Dad was our inspiration; no matter what burden life handed him, he always persevered and moved on. Despite his illness, Dad maintained his independence up until a few weeks before his death. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church. Student Pastor Susan Horton will officiate, with interment to follow in the Hnausa Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Hnausa Cemetery Committee, in care of Raymond Palsson, Riverton, Man., R0C 2R0.
