GENEROSO FERRER SARMIENTO June 1, 1921 - July 1, 2000 Peacefully, on Saturday, July 1, 2000, Generoso (Ka Osong) beloved husband of Hermie Sarmiento (nee Manatad) passed away at the Health Sciences Rehab. Centre, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by his first wife, Aurea Marquez; his parents, Marciano and Baldomera Ferrer; daughter Elizabeth and son Benjamin. Generoso is survived by sisters, Cleofe Tabora, Yoly Cely, all in The Philippines and Pilar Gabriel of Winnipeg; his brother Cresercio Sarmiento of New Jersey. Left to cherish his memories are his children and children-in-law, Flor and Raul Oppenheim, Blanca and Juanito Guevara, Joe and Mary Sarmiento, Nandy and Lourdes Sarmiento, Rey and Ely Sarmiento, Ric and Rose Sarmiento, Amy and Onek Blanco, Josie and Freddie Polintan, Marivic and Chris Mueller, Kristine and Maricar Sarmiento, all of Winnipeg. He will be lovingly missed by his 23 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Lamay will be held on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9 from 6:00 p.m.-12:00 midnight with prayers on Saturday, July 8 at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington St. Burial at Assumption Cemetery.
