CHARTRAND 1922 - 2000 It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, Henry D. Chartrand. He passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on July 3, 2000. Henry was on this earth for 78 years. He was born in Duck Bay, Man. on June 26, 1922. He lived a traditional lifestyle as a hunter, trapper, fisherman and pulp cutter. He was also a veteran of the Second World War. He loved his way of life and was an example of a hard working man and a dedicated and caring soul to all who had the opportunity to know and love him. Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Elizabeth; his sons, Arnold and Sonny Boy; brothers, Walter, Donald, Gilbert and James; sisters, Victoria and Clara. He leaves to mourn his brothers, Hector and Lawrence; his children, Audrey Guiboche (husband Edward), Lloyd Chartrand (wife Betty), Lorna Chartrand and Shirley Chartrand (partner Larry) and family members; daughter-in-law Mabel Campbell; special nephews, Marvin Delaronde (wife Donna), Clarence Chartrand (wife Phyllis) and Darryl Contois (partner Jennifer) special niece Rita Spence (husband Albert). Grandchildren, Andrea Guiboche (partner Chris), Anthea McKenzie (husband Andrew), Althea Guiboche (partner Chris), Richard Chartrand (partner Lynn), Andre Guiboche, Melanie Campbell, Arnold Chartrand, Jr., Abbeygail Chartrand, Lloyd Jr. Chartrand, Cheryl Fransico, Terry Chartrand and Jennifer Chartrand (partner Walter). Great-grandchildren, Jordan, Donovan, Christopher, Mackenzie, Andrew Jr., Alexander, Brendan, Masynne, Bailey, Jeremy, Chealsea and Jaryd. Numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Also, special friends, Alice Chartrand, Alissa Chartrand and Caroline Simpson. Pallbearers are grandchildren, Andrea Guiboche, Anthea McKenzie, Althea Guiboche, Richard Chartrand, Andre Guiboche, Arnold Chartrand Jr. and great-grandchildren Jordan Guiboche and Donovan Guiboche and in addition Charles Parenteau by special request. All great-grandchildren are honorary pallbearers. The eulogy was written by Anthea McKenzie on behalf of all family members. Prayers are behind held in Duck Bay on Wednesday, July 5 at 8:00 p.m. at the Duck Bay Community Hall. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, July 6 at the Duck Bay Roman Catholic Church with the officiant father Vic Tungolh. Interment to follow at Duck Bay Cemetery. Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Services of Dauphin in charge of arrangements.
