MYROSLAW TRETIAK Peacefully in his 90th year, Myrs passed away on July 3, 2000 at the Arborg Personal Care Home. Myrs is survived by his wife Domia of Arborg; sons, Dan (Yvette) of Winnipeg, Bob (Ruby) of Arborg and daughter Karen of Montreal, Que. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Heather of Hamilton, Doug (Emily) of Austin, Texas; Chris and Corinne of Winnipeg; Lindsey of Arborg and sister Merisa Kubas of Winnipeg. Myrs has numerous relatives scattered from coast to coast. Myrs was predeceased by parents, Danylo and Theodosia; brother Peter (Martha) sisters, Sally, Natalie (Keith) and Alice (Emil). Myrs was born in Broad Valley, MB on September 11, 1910 and lived there all his life. He received his education in Winnipeg at Norquay and King Edward Schools as well as United College. Myrs married Domia Rutchka in 1939 and together they assumed the family businesses - the store and post office, garage and farm in Broad Valley. After being in business for nearly 53 years, the store was closed, but Myrs continued to "putter" in his shop. He enjoyed good health until 1997 and moved into the personal care home in 1998. The family would like to thank Dr. Muller, Dr. Anozic, all his home care workers, as well as all of the staff at the Arborg Personal Care Home for the kind and gentle care he received. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 6 in the Broad Valley Community Hall with Pastor Tom Gerbrandt officiating. Interment will follow at the Broad Valley Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Bob Kostyniuk, Larry Rutchka, Dan Jaremy, Randy Buchko, Lorne Buchko and Jim Ruchka. Arrangements entrusted to Fisher Funeral Home, 372-6271. In lieu of flowers, donations in Myrs memory may be made to a charity of their choice.
