Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryORMOND JOSEPH GILLEN On July 2, 2000 at the Health Sciences Centre, Ormond Joseph Gillen, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away surrounded by his family. Ormond was predeceased by his wife Amy in 1998, son Tony in 1987, son Sean in 2000 and seven brothers and sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by his son Jim (Georgina) and children, Kevin, Patrick, Jacinta and her daughter Olivia; son Paul (Nancy) and their children, James and Kathryn; Seans children, Sean Patrick (Wendy) and their son Colin, Susan (Aaron)and their son Jack, Patricia (Dan) and their children, Alex and Brendan; daughters, Ann, Karen and her children, Kevin, Lynn and Stacy; and many other relatives and friends. Ormond was born August 14, 1917 in Longford, Ireland. He was an Irish Tenor, who loved to sing and had a beautiful voice, whose musical gift was greatly admired. Dad worked for CP Railway and the Winnipeg School Division and was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Ormond was a man that received strength and guidance from his faith and loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a wonderful sense of humour, and he loved fishing. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre, Home Care Workers over the years and most recently Cynthia and Donna, Fr. Monty and Fr. Johnson for their spiritual support. Funeral service Friday, July 7 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Ignatius of Loyola Church, 255 Stafford St., with Rev. Fr. Peter Monty S.J. officiating.
