TEOFILO Y. VERGARA Peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2000, Teofilo, age 59 years, beloved husband of Maurita passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Teofilo was born December 28, 1940 in The Philippines. In his home country he was a school teacher, and upon immigrating to Canada he was employed with Old Dutch Foods Ltd. He was also a faithful member of St. Edwards Church Choir. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Maurita; son Marvin; daughter Mirabelle; and his two loving sidekicks, Sebastian, and Zoe; sister Connie, husband Roger, and their children, Geraldine, and Lori, Andy and family; numerous other relatives in The Philippines and Canada. Lamay will be held on Thursday, July 6, and Friday, July 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, 818 Arlington. Rev. Fr. R. Polz presiding. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the people at Sherbrook, and to my family in The Philippines who always took care of our father with much love, and care when he visited them, who in return never asked for anything back. Their love for him was unconditional, and Teofilo loved them very much. Special thanks to Ben and Annie for all their support, and to Lola, and all the members of my side of the family for all their unselfishness in giving. Teofilo lived life very simple, and in his own way touched many lives. Everyone who came into his life became a friend. Our father had a zest for life, and those around him. He would always be there for anyone while asking nothing in return. He was always willing to share what he had with others. He will always be loved, and remembered by all. From all of us we would like to thank everyone for wanting to take the time in their busy schedule here, and from abroad to be here with us during this difficult time, and by helping us with all their assistance.
